What is Depression?

Depression is more than just feeling sad and having a low mood. It is so much more than having a bad day, or being affected by dark, damp and cold weather.


Clinical depression is prolonged and can last for weeks or months, having a debilitating impact on daily life.


Symptoms include:

Feeling unhappy and hopeless

Not gaining pleasure from things that used to bring you joy

Feeling tired all the time

Low self esteem

Lacking energy and enthusiasm

Not wanting to get out of bed and face the day

Anxiety (sometimes coupled with depression)
